Summary[]
While Nick takes on the gut-wrenching task of erasing Antonio's existence in the human world, and Jeremy is sidelined by with a strange poison, Elena and Clay are left alone to deal with the Mutt situation in Bear Valley. Clay and Elena must hurry to find out what toxin is killing Jeremy. Clay is determined to get whatever information he can out of Cain, who is caged in the War Room. Elena heads to town to track down the mysterious woman who stabbed Jeremy in the Mutt's ambush. The two women confront each other at the Bear Valley Diner, where Elena learns that this ...

Elena Michaels: I talked to Cain's girlfriend, Amber. She knows about us... about the werewolves. That's who he's protecting, not the rest of the mutts.
Clayton Danvers: She knows... and you let her go?
Elena Michaels: [shakes head] You're not listening to me.
[sighs]
Elena Michaels: Cain fell in love with a girl, so much so that he told her who he really was. He trusted her, and she accepted it.
Clayton Danvers: Then she has to die.
Elena Michaels: Don't you see?
[tearfully:]
Elena Michaels: No matter how much she asked him to bite her, he can't do it because he's afraid of losing her.
[the accusation hits home with Clay]
Elena Michaels: He won't take that chance. He won't risk her life.
[voice breaking:]
Elena Michaels: That's love.
Clayton Danvers: You were right. He loved her more than life.
Elena Michaels: Clay...

[burrows his hand inside her hair, pulling her closer, and she gasps]
Nick Sorrentino: That part's already done.
Karl Marsten: It wasn't my call. I'm merely a passenger on this ride.
Elena Michaels: Still looking out for yourself, I see.
Karl Marsten: I believe it is called looking out for number one. And yes indeed, I am. Something you should be thinking about doing, too.
Elena Michaels: All I'm thinking about is snapping your neck.
Thomas Leblanc: Mm. I like that. The ones who try to fight back are the most fun.
Elena Michaels: [unflinching, confronting him] Hmm. Well, then you're gonna have a blast with me.
